ASE Broadband Light Source Modules
Our ASE broadband light source modules and superluminescent diode sets consist of the STD and LSR series whereby the latter has considerably lower spectral ripples than the former. Both series cover the 700 nm to 1700 nm wavelength range, and can be configured to operate in any of these optical wavelength bands for applications such as fiber optic communications, fiber optic sensing, optical coherence tomography, and many more. In addition, the spectral width and ripple of both series can be tweaked slightly to accommodate marginal differences in device characteristics such as variation in center wavelength and spectral width due to inevitable manufacturing inconsistencies.
The performance of the ASE broadband light source modules and superluminescent diode sets depends on the grades of parts and selection of parts to fulfill certain criteria such as operating case temperature, spectral width, spectral ripple, spectral power density, and center wavelength are available upon request. To the best of our knowledge, we developed the current industry-leading high-performance 1310 nm and 1550 nm superluminescent diode modules using our design and fabrication methods, and we are applying these methodologies to develop more state-of-the-art superluminescent diode modules.
